Current and Upcoming Surveys

University Data and Analytics is responsible for administering and overseeing the administration of a robust series of surveys of NC State students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Below are links to information about UDA surveys currently being administered, and to our five-year survey schedule for routinely administered surveys. In addition, based on information provided through the University Regulation on such activities, we have created and made available a calendar with information about student, alumni, faculty, and staff surveys being administered by other individuals/offices.

Current Surveys

  • Graduating Senior Survey (GSS) Inserts
    In fall 2026, University Data and Analytics (UDA) is administering the Graduating Senior Survey to baccalaureate-seeking students graduating in December 2026. Seniors are prompted to complete the survey when they apply for graduation in MyPack Portal. Students who do not complete it at that time will receive a direct link by email starting in November. The Graduating Senior Survey seeks to learn more about students’ experiences in their colleges and degree programs.   • Future Plans Survey (FPS)
    Students earning a baccalaureate degree, as well as those earning a master’s or doctoral degree, are also prompted to complete the Future Plans Survey to report their post-graduation plans. Beginning on November 23, students will be emailed a direct survey link and will have until January 8 to participate. Students who complete the survey are entered into random drawings for gift card prizes. More information and past results are available on the Future Plans Survey website.
  • Employee Engagement Survey
    The biennial Employee Engagement Survey, administered by ModernThink, is currently in the field through mid-November. Analysis and reporting will take place through early spring, and UDA plans to share the results before the end of the spring semester. Upcoming Surveys

  • Alumni Survey
    The triennial Alumni Survey will be administered in spring 2027 to students who received baccalaureate degrees in AY21-22, AY22-23, and AY23-24. The comprehensive questionnaire asks alumni about their overall satisfaction with their NC State experience; involvement in co-curricular activities and enriching educational experiences while at NC State; post-graduation employment and/or further education; the importance of and preparation in various skills and abilities for employment and/or further education; and the ways in which they stay connected to NC State. To collect data for their own planning and assessment, many colleges/departments also have UDA include program-specific questionnaires specifically for their alumni.
